Getting too old to step up into the bed of my Ram and got tired of carrying around a step stool. Found this little gem - Bestop Trekstep. Mounts to exiting bumper bolts, either side of the truck. Spring loaded, flips up and down with your foot. Works with tailgate up or down. Sweet!
If the manufacturers built these a little closer to the ground like they use to just maybe we would not need step ladders to get in and out of the bed.
That's handy. I have a step stool to get in and out of my box - although I can still hop up in there without it. I think the 2001 was the tallest stock height of the Ram - at least up to that point. At the rear, the rail of my box is at about chin height to me. I have to use the step stool to work on the engine, though.
