For Air Grabber Owners--anyone misinterpret trap door as an aid to cool radiator?

I remember back in 1971 my parents purchased (special ordered) a new Roadrunner with airgrabber hood. When we first saw the dealer demonstrator vehicle, the salesman made it a point to explain the air grabber had nothing to do with the engines cooling system/radiator. I was curious if any mopar owners have found bystanders/spectators who may have assumed the airgrabber system is used to cool the engine rather than supply fresh cool air to the carburetor(s)? P.S. The salesman back then offered us a yellow "leftover" Superbird the dealership had not been able to sell, but we were not interested in such an anomaly at the time. Darn, if we only knew!

Back in '83 I drove my '70 GTX out to California. One day I pulled up to a stop light and a guy in the car next to me asked me where I got my Air Grabber hood. When I told him it was factory, he just chuckled and didn't believe me. LOL - looking back, I'm amazed at the wild stuff Chrysler put into production back then. The Superbird (as you mentioned) is right up there on that wild list, too.
