I decided to roll the dice on making a Pennywise 2.0 figure from the new version of It! that starts this weekend, and am I glad I did! I had to order all the stuff for him from a Cosplay shop in China, and they did an awesome job on the costume, boots, and mask. And with all the buzz being this movie is going be a record breaker, I think he'll be a great addition to our Halloween display.

Even better, a friend of ours knows the manager of a big cineplex near us, and he told her about our figure and sent her some pictures. She contacted me and asked if she could rent him for a big display and event they are doing. So I'm getting paid about five times what it cost to make him, plus my family gets free tickets to the premiere event. Even better, the manager showed the pictures to her Warner Bros rep, and he's giving her a ton of promotional swag, which my family gets first dibs on. :)

I think "The Shallow Grave" near Auburndale has a dog soldier out front this year.

Is that yours?

Nope. Our Dog Soldier is waiting for Halloween in our man cave. He's standing right behind Pennywise in the photos. :)

I'd be scared to visit your home if I was a kid, you've got some freaky looking monsters sitting around. Nice work

Looks pretty cool to me! Going to see the movie Monday.

Hey Bruzilla!
Post us a pic of you and the Creature of the Black Lagoon again?
Please?

I have a picture of Ricou Browning, who played the Creature in all the underwater shots, with him. That's my hand on the right. :)

Geez Bru!
How do you make these things?
The Creature was funny. I've wanted a lifesize Creature since I built my first Aurora Creature kit in 1969. I could find the head, hands, and feet, but didn't know how to make the body. I was thinking I could cover a mannequin in clay and have my sister-in-law sculpt it, but then I knew it would dry and crack and fall off over time. Then a guy on Halloweenforum.com told me that the body is essentially just the same shape repeated over and over again from the legs up, like a collapsible telescope. I had never noticed that before, but he was right! I just had to make a template of that shape, make it slightly wider as I went up the body, and overlay the piece below it a bit and voila! The chest plate was the same deal, just the same shaped strips going up.

The nice thing about making these is they are just shapes. You find a way to make the shape and you can make anything.

Great pic Bru!
Holy Cow that is one incredible statue/model of the Creature of the Black Lagoon!
Truly a masterpiece!

So: My buds here at the F-22 CTF test Team/Edwards AFB are all in awe at your Penny Wise the Clown!
Yeah man!
Penny wise is Awesome / Spot On

BTW: one of my Bud's wives saw it with her girl friend in Vegas and she said the movie it truly scary!
Unlike the original with john Boy etc.
PS: I read the book in 1978

That you? Jesus Chrysler, you're older than me! Here's one that will scare you. Makes your creation look like decoration for day care.

The picture is the actor who played the creature from the Black Lagoon. Bruzilla is out of the picture except for his hand on its shoulder as far as I read.

There should be just enough time for @Bruzilla to check his lug nuts before the Hurricane hits.:D

Stay safe people.
