Hi again! I noticed that the transmission crossmember has a flange on one side only. I also noticed that the crossmember can be placed either way, at least on a 4-speed. I plan to install it Sat., so I haven't tried it in both ways, but it appears to be reversable. I'm guessing the the flange should go towards the rear of the car, as it may hit if used with an automatic transmission??? Does an automatic use the same crossmember?
You all have been VERY helpful with my project!! Think I've only got one more question (as of now!!)....will post it soon regarding where to buy the heat shield insulation on the starter and trani. wires.

My FSM shows both the manual and automatic to be installed like your second photo. The Mount nut offset to the front side and the flange to the rear.
