Your motor is on a plate, correct? How much space do you need? Take a look under many AA/AH cars. The K frames are spaced down. Quick and easy.

Back when we ran Pro Nostalgia S/S the rule was a 5" hood scoop. Nobody ran a tunnel ram because it was to tall. The engine was still on the stock mounts so we spaced the K frame 1" to gain carb clearance. Different reason but the same fix. We had to bow the hood in the middle as 2" a well, but thats another story.
