While I was waiting for an answer (which came quickly) on the correct install on the upper rear pad, I installed a new door cat whisker, and started on installing a new front upper door pad.
Right away I ran into another hold up. The new remote mirror came with what I will call a washer/retainer for lack of a better term. My old mirror did not have this type of hardware with it, and it was not left in place on my old front upper pad.
I looked at a number of pics of door pads on the site, but did not see a good shot of a driver side door pad showing this hardware either.
Of course, no instructions were included with the new mirror.
I would seem that the hardware piece inserts from the back side of the upper panel, with the one tab that is on the outer portion of it aligned with the slot in the upper pad metal frame, and the two other tabs to be bent outward once the piece is in place to hold it in place on the pad.
Just looking for a confirmation before I screw it all up, and then install it.
