Fuel Filler Relocation

I am thinking about relocating my fuel filler location on my 1969 Coronet from behind the tag to somewhere higher up. Has anyone done something like this before? I did a few searches but did not come across anything.

I like the look of the old nascar side fillers but not sure what type of safty issues I would run into doing a relocation.

Why not just copy the design of the 69 Charger, and install Charger hardware (readily available)? That would be the simplest way to go (well, lots of work and something I'd never attempt).

My point is that the template and the parts are common, it's refitting it all to another B-Body that is your issue (safety is likely very high).
