Fuel pump push rod troubles

I just got my 440 rebuilt and I couldn't get my fuel pump push rod in. I cleaned out the hole with a pipe cleaner brush and sanded the push rod a bit to get it in. It still kind of hangs up a bit. I called comp cams, I have the right push rod. If it happens to hang up few times when it's running am I gonna cash the cam lobe? Maybe just sand it down more?

Mic the push rod in 2 places and check with Comp on the size.

I did that, the dude from comp cams was a real A hole and told me he didn't know the diameter.

I found the diameter it's supposed to be from jegs website and mine reads .003" bigger.

If you keep having problems - go electric. I got tired of trying to out guess it and that's what I did my stroked 440 runs fine now.

It's a simple matter of measuring, if it's oversized it's oversized. I'd inspect the bore for gouges or anything out of the norm, if it's good then I'd go elsewhere for another pushrod. Did you try the original? Throwing an electric pump on it because there's a clearance issue isn't the answer, find it, fix it. Good luck

The comp tech support is hit or miss, just order a new one and return the bad one.

The bore in my RB had a huge burr, how it got there?? I bought a reamer to clean out the bore.
