I have a rotisserie restored 1972 Tor-Red Plymouth Roadrunner (400ci) with less than 44,000 documented miles. It has PS/PB/Slap Stick Auto with the rare n96 Air Grabber package. The car was purchased new in Aurora, Colorado in Sept 1972 and was driven sparingly until it was put into storage in 1984. The car was taken out of storage in 2001 and sold to the second owner who stored the car until 2006. The nut and bolt rotisserie restoration took 2 and a half years and was completed in the summer of 2009. I am the third owner.

I have the following documentation:

Original window sticker
Original buyers order dated 9/2/72
Chrysler Info Sheet for this car
Owners registration cards from 1973-1984
Original CO license plate that was on the car from new

The mileage at the time of the restoration was 41,680. The only rust on the car was in the lower rear quarters, and new metal was installed when the car was media stripped. The Tor-Red (read Hemi orange) paint is basecoat/clearcoat and is absolutely stunning. The following was accomplished during the restoration:

Engine completely rebuilt with all new internal components, including pistons, mild road cam, lifters, valve springs, rings and bearings, timing chain, oil pump, hi flow water pump, starter, all belts and hoses, and engine bay wiring harness.

The alternator and correct Thermoquad carb (6090S) were rebuilt, and the correct radiator (3574614) was re-cored.

On the body, the wiper motor was rebuilt and restored to original, the door hinges were rebuilt, and new 15X7 rallye wheels, centers and trim rings were installed. Also new are the heater core, wheel lip moldings, tinted windshield, vinyl top, front windows (correct markings) and reflective strobe stripes. In addition, every piece of stainless trim was polished, and all new weatherstripping for the entire car was installed.

The interior was treated to a full restoration as well, including the dash pad and all door panels being redone by Just Dashes, the gauge cluster rebuilt and restored, new headliner, front and rear seat covers, center console, top plate, slap stick shift handle and shift indicator and bezel.

The restoration also included all new front suspension parts, correct Accurate exhaust with Hemi mufflers, new stainless correct exhaust tips, new gas tank and stainless fuel lines, new rotors, calipers, pads, wheel cylinders, and stainless brake lines, and front and rear brake hoses. Also replaced were all 4 shocks and u-joints.

The pictures don't do this car justice. It is one of the nicest 1972 Roadrunners on the planet. It is a low mileage collector car with investment potential. This was the lowest production year for the Roadrunner (about 7600 units), only half of them were 400's and there aren't many left that even have all of the numbers matching components, much less restored to this level. I am in Sun City AZ, just NW of Phoenix and would welcome and encourage inspections. The car will speak for itself. Please PM me for additional pictures and/or more info. $36,900. Thanks for looking!
