I am thinking about switching from a double roller chain drive to a gear drive for the cam in my 440. Does anyone use this, looking for feed back, pro's and con's. Thanks.

You must want the noise really bad.. Have you priced the gear drive, timing cover, water pump housing and what ever yet that will have to be changed?

I have a gear drive on my 440. I do not like it. It is noisey, and I think it takes away from the normal idle rumble. Here's a video of my car. If you skip ahead to about 1:47, you'll hear me blip the throttle a few times and you can hear it whine. I'm planning on removing it and putting in a normal timing chain.

And ignore how dirty the car was. It was just transported from Indiana to Philly in the winter the day before!

Mine was noisy too with my solid cam but I switched to a roller and now it's hardly noticeable. Not gone completely but everyone asks if I have a blower now. I like it so far. I have about 11, 000 miles on it now.
