I recently bought a gear vendors over drive for my torqueflite 727. I am wondering how you measure how much i have to shorten the driveshaft. I understand that certain considerations need to be taken for the slip joint. Any thoughts?

Push the slip yoke into the overdrive and measure between the centre of the overdrive yoke and the centre of the axle yoke, then deduct 3/4", thats the length of the drive shaft you need.

read instructions or call gear vendors....they have all the answers

How well do those overdrives work? Woundnt mind putting one on my car in time for the hot rod power tour..

Was it as easy as they say installing it?
I recently got a Dana 60 with 4.10 gears and an overdrive unit going to be a must if I keep those gears.

$2700 plus you have to shorten your drive shaft or buy a new one if you decided to sell car and remove....600-800 rpms less when you shift into overdrive
