Has anyone had any luck with this? In Indiana it looks like a person can do a "court ordered title". It's probably a pain in the butt.

What have you guys had success with? (if any)

Talking about junkers, parts cars, and such.

i once took an untitled car to the California Highway Patrols office (in Los Angeles of course). they ran the vin numbers through their data base, found that it wasn't stolen, and sent me to DMV to get new title.

When I registered my `66 Belvedere II in Maryland, I took an old Kansas registration from the glove box in to the MVA (Motor Vehicle Administration...MD has to be different I guess)...told them my uncle couldn't find the title. They provided me with a MD title no problem. Shh...I wanted to keep the original document...

Mine had not been registered since 1979. I titled it in 2012.

I'd suggest going to a DMV service in your area - they know all the tricks. It will cost more but will get done much quicker.

The internet is a wonderful thing. Call Indiana DMV and find out. Asking on a forum is silly. Call the source.

Patrick is right. Go to your local DMV office, ask to see a manager, and ask them.
