Got the car into the 12's , not bad for a heavy 71' b-body with a 78' 440 motorhome short block, with stock low compression pistons, resized rods with arp bolts and a comp 509 cam , 906 heads. Had a blast, no problems with the car, it was a great weekend !

Yeah, I was a little shocked that it got into the 12's, but very happy. It was also my first torqueflite rebuild, taking my time to do it right was worth it !

Sweet ride, and gratz on the successful first runs for that car and engine combo.

Doing the same thing myself right now and hope to be out to the track next weekend for the first time this year. Same idea, replacing my 383 with a stock low compression 440 from a 76 to 78 with a new cam and some bolt on upgrades up top. Will be interesting to see if my old beater can also do mid 12s. My first ever engine assembly so a bit nervous about how it works out.

Who knows, maybe bump into you at a track in western Canada next year.
