Can't wait to get it installed and finaly put an end to this disk brake conversion. Unbelievable amounts of nonsense with this.

But the new one looks great.

$260 from PirateJack.net via ebay Did I mention FREE SHIPPING! lol was a good deal, had tried to order one from summit but they kept back ordering for months finally saw this one which is $135 more than I wanted to pay since summits was going to be $125 but they had none and would have been a remand anyway, so screw it paid more but got a NEW one and for under $300 I think is a deal.

Thanks for posting this and the link JB, I might be needing a new one for my car and was wondering about piratejack. Looks like a quality ticket!

Just wanted to add that this i an 8" booster not the 7" one that comes in most kits. I got my kit from Right Stuff Detailing. The booster they supplied is a universal booster on a bracket for Hemi cars. Since I don't have a Hemi that made no sense so dropped the bracket with, had to mod the firewall reinforcement bracket but its good. Plus get an 8" bigger booster for even better stopping. the system works good now but hoping to have not only correct style booster but even more improved braking. Nothing better in these quick cars than good brakes. didn't take long to put it to the test either / crazy drivers out there lol.

I was considering one of these myself- I noticed on the eBay post it says you need to enlarge the firewall plate holes for it to fit. Any details on that? Curious if it helps too- my Charger has the original drum booster with big disc brakes, and it's been pretty weak- I'd like more assistance at the pedal. Keep us posted on how it works for you.

Yes, I had to do that anyway when I took the booster I had that had the Hemi offset bracket on it from Right Stuff Detailing. Look at the before and after shots o the set up in y car. I hated the way it sat in the car so much I couldn't take it so I ok the bracket off and with the intent to get the different booster I knew this was only temporary, but will say this the current set up stops very well. PS there is a whole other thread on this in brakes.

Make sure you get the bushing that goes into the pushrod and attaches to the brake mechanism. I have a factory bendix dual diaphragm power brake booster on my 66 and it stops great. The master cylinder backing plate has the hole opening more in the middle of the plate with a factory booster. If you use the hemi set up the hole in the plate stays the same as the non power booster plate. Sounds like you are on the right track. Plus the factory type booster looks better to me.

Yes, I have a adjustable pedal rod assembly I am using it works great for it from summit. Had to fab a bracket for the brake switch. This swap should be easy, the shop that did h original install will do the swap since I want the portioning valve relocated.

That cad plated booster you show in the pic is a Bendix unit commonly used on Fords. Rebuilt ones of those are available at Auto Zone for like $90.00. Of course it's the mounting bracket and rod that makes it work on the MoPar. The OP pic appears to be the correct Bendix unit used by MoPar for the factory disc brake cars. The Ram Man claims to have the correct boosters as well but may be more expensive. If this is indeed the correct Bendix booster for the B body, and you got it for $300.00 outright rebuilt ready to go, I probably wouldn't complain either.

Thanks, $260 from Pirate Jack Hot rods via eBay FREE shipping ;) Also and most importantly NEW! After 4 months of issues and research to find a new one vs a remand one is huge. I literally called everywhere that showed they may have one from a list directly form Bendix's web site. One store in LA said they had 1 in stock so I ordered, all the while having an order placed at Summit for one both remand ones with core charge.

Summit kept pushing back the ship date because they couldn't get one. I called the store in LA the next business day to make sure it was real and after the guy checked he realized he was out of stock so he called everywhere down there for me and after a day of checking he called back and said the issue is online sales!

Remember you are supposed to send your old one back as a core like we used to do in the old days. Most core charges for these boosters are $20 But people are buying them online and then realizing that the shipping cost's to send it back just to get $20 back in core fee's isn't worth it so what happens is the manufacture ends up not have anything to rebuild.

This has drained the stock to the point that there are no more remand units out there. So what do you do? well I guess if your pirate Jack or PST you find a company that makes them new under the Bendix license then that's what you do. Fortunately for us Pirate Jack is selling them for $260 about $135 more than Summit for a remand one.

Oh and PS just a reminder, something that just kicked me in the nuts today because I forgot. You need this firewall bracket and pedal rod assembly for it all to fit correctly. Guys at the shop called me today in a panic saying they had to fab a rod? I said WTF? went down there and they were all confused on how the booster fit and the rod assembly, then it dawned on my oh **** I forgot to get the pedal assembly, since I could not find anywhere that sells it by it's self I went ahead and got a new fire wall bracket too. Needed it to be black anyway lol....delays delays..... lmao good times.

Yeah, the power brakes used the fast ratio link thing. Good you straightened them out!

A new proper Bendix booster!!?? Definitely let us know how this works out. My 68 RR is a Bendix disc brake car.

Not sure how the adjustable pedal rod works with the brake booster you have but you will need this bushing to use with the bell crank.

For thoes who don't already know, Pirate Jack is the store front that sells MBM Brakes parts. MBM manufactures new OEM style Bendix brake boosters and other brake parts for Mopars.

I converted a power drum to manual disc and didn't like the feel. So, I bought the power booster kit (booster, linkage, firewall plate and master cylinder) from Pirate Jacks. I plan to install this weekend.

BTW, Inline Tubing has the brake lines from the master cylinder to the distribution block. You'll need a set if you're going from manual to power brakes as the booster pushes the master cylinder forward a good bit.

I'll post a review of the kit in a separate thread.

Good luck Bigman. Keep us posted.

Very cool, and even better some one else on the same path. The shop that is doing the install for me is making custom new lines for me and putting the proportioning valve in a spot that I chose.

Doesn't that bushing come with the pedal linkage assembly, like in the picture?

The linkage has the bushings in it. The only thing you don't get is the bolt with the o-ring that connects the linkage to the pedal.

Here's my before and after photos. (I forgot to take a photo of the linkage.)

Bigman - That looks WAAAAAyyyyyyy Better than the old gold setup you had. That one reminded me of a 1976 winnebago motorhome!!

Im headed down this road soon, thanks for all the photos and descriptions. Any reason why you didnt do the conversion yourself?
