Had a deer steak last night

I made spaghetti sauce with Deer hamburger for years. My wife always enjoyed it until I left a package to thaw in the sink. Instead of saying hamburger on the package it said Deer burger. The processor had changed his stamp. Now my wife never eats any meat I cook. Funny how the mind works.

We use it for everything but burgers. Too lean to hold together for burgers. Great in Spaghetti, Tacos, Chili, etc. etc.

I know people that say they don't like venison too! My reply is "You sure seemed to like the Chili you had over at our place! :)

The person I use to process my Deer meat uses enough beef fat that it holds together good for burgers too. If you use the Deer fat the great taste of the venison becomes what I call tainted. He also makes a great Deer summer sausage. The trick is not to use any Deer fat. Still by using beef fat, cooking one pound of Deer burger for spaghetti or chili I only get about 4-5 tablespoons of fat off of it when its drained.

A friend of mine over here makes venison salami from some of his kill...tastes awesome too.

I likes me a venison....well just about anything.

I don't like to cut it with beef, pork, or anything though.

I want my deer to taste like deer, and only deer.

Grew up eating deer meat, bear, mule deer, turkey, rabbit and more. Remember Mom labeling the meat..."Muley Burger" lol. We had a coffin top freezer in the basement that was kept full year round.

"How can you eat these precious little creatures?" Only a person who has never hit one on the highway would say something like that. Personally, I think there should be a bounty on them.

I fidget too much to hunt and now when I sit still for very long my body hurts....and don't know anyone that hunts anymore or are pushing up daisies but I still love wild game. PETA means People Eating....well, you know. :D

I don't hunt them, but won't turn them down if it's put on a plate in front of me.

I'm more of a fish person myself.

Me too! Finally learned that my hunting stand needs a full rail around it with a curtain so they can't see me fidgeting :) Both my wife and I each use one of the stand shown below, so we can turn in the chair and not be seen if we move!

Also a fish person.

I could probably survive on fish alone.

Argument ender-

Animals eat animals.
