Hammerin' Hank won't be down

R.I.P.

God rest his soul.
A sports hero that was truly a good role model.

Damn, great ballplayer and great human being. RIP.

Big hero for many, including me! I remember I couldn’t wait to get home and watch the game where he broke the record! The right way too!

May he Rest In Peace!

Took the words right out of my mouth...

True standout! Remember when he was with my hometown Milwaukee Braves before returning at the end of his career with the Brewers...wow I'm old...

RIP Hank Aaron, he was much more than a great ball player. He was a great example of a man who overcame mountains! Our so called modern day athletes should take a page out of Hank's playbook and study it! May God rest his blessed soul! 440'

Another great one gone!!! R.I.P.

I grew up in Atlanta in the 60's and 70's.
We had two baseball heroes those years - Henry Aaron and Phil Niekro.
They're both gone now, but if you wanted to draw up a prototype for kids to follow on how to play
the game - and conduct themselves as humans - you'd be hard pressed to find two better representatives.

Hank did what he did as an all-around player, not just a slugger, especially in his younger years...
he hit for average and was a line drive hitter and was one darn fine fielder, too.
He could steal a base with the best of them, too - and to top it all off, he did it in the south,
when prejudice was still very real and the dangers just as relevant.
Despite what was going on in those days, he was amazingly humble and VERY active in the community
(as was Phil).

I'm old anyways, but today I aged a bit more than usual.
Godspeed, Mr. Aaron - and thank you.

PS - That punk Bonds couldn't carry this man's jockstrap.

I'm left-handed so it was Warren Spahn for me, but Hammerin' Hank was always close by in the radar. It's been a helluva 2020-21!

In the last in year and 3 weeks, the Baseball Hall of Fame has lost TEN (10) players and a Manager....

On the mound; Tom Seaver, Bob Gibson, Whitey Ford,
Phil Niekro, and Don Sutton.... That is some staff.....

At the plate; Henry Aaron, Al Kaline, Lou Brock, Joe Morgan, and Dick Allen.....
And Tommy Lasorda....

Not to mention, Bob Watson, Ed Farmer, Phil Linz, Lindy McDaniel, Denis Menke, and more....

As we continue to lose our youth, I suppose that means that we are growing older ......

We will always remember Hammerin' Hank for # 715 and eventually # 755....
(Hank had stated that he received bushel loads of hate mail as he approached # 714... And what should have been a Great day in his life when he passed the Babe.... Was NOT...)

As Great as his exploits on the field, He was a Great MAN off the field, and in Retirement....
Maybe now, we can regard his reverance, and truly appreciate what a special MAN he was on this planet.
R I P Henry, Thank you for you.....

True legend, RIP Hank, class act for a professional athlete
