We celebrate American Independence Day on the Fourth of July every year.

We think of July 4, 1776, as a day that represents the Declaration of Independence and the birth of the United States of America as an independent nation.

John Adams said, "The Second Day of July 1776 will be the most memorable Epocha, (extremely significant) , in the History of America. . . It ought to be solemnized with Pomp and Parade, with Shews, Games, Sports, Guns, Bells, Bonfires, and Illuminations from one End of this Continent to the other from this Time forward forever more."
