While I have the front sheet metal off my 67 rt, I'm going to restore the headlight bucket assemblies and want to keep the finish accurate on all the components. Anyone have a picture or page on what the correct look should be?

I asked this question a few weeks back for a 69 Bee and was told they were galvanized.

They are anodized aluminum to make them nice you gotta strip the anodizing off and then polish and detail. Some use oven cleaner to strip but be forewarned it's a job but if done correctly well worth it.

Pm Zack......5.7Hemi.....on this forum. He does this kind of thing if you are looking for someone

Head light buckets are steel. The head light doors are aluminum. One is galanized, and the other is brite-dip anodized.

I already have restored aluminum headlight bezels. I was referring to the headlight assembly behind the bezels.

I sandblasted mine and painted them with dull aluminum. It's a little bright but dulls down. Looks pretty close. 3 years later they still look like new.

Yes, Galvanied Steel

Like previously mentioned, galvanized steel. Mine were looking very sad & I used a small, fine sand, blaster & held it back a little farther then normal, so I wouldn`t remove the good galvanizing & once both sides were very lightly blasted, they looked really good & I just lightly clear coated them. They looked great & still do to this day.
