Hey guys,
Has anyone ever tried to install a harness bar in a b body without a full roll cage? I'm looking at the new removable harness bar made by Chris Alston chassis works. It actually mounts to what I would call the B pillar behind the door and below the passenger window just behind the seats.
My goal is to put in a removable harness bar that I can use with racing belts but that I can remove when my kids want to sit in the backseat. I also have the problem of trying to make it work with the factory seats which do not have holes for the shoulder belts. I'm not sure if it's going to be possible to make the belts fit properly without switching seats.
I don't drag race the car and only occasionally run it on a road course. I'd like to try autocross as well. I don't know that I need a full cage or even a rollbar for those events but it would sure be nice to have better fitting belts that help keep me in the seat. In the end I may end up with a racing seats at least on the driver side.
