Has anyone on here bought an Eastwood's 220v MIG 175 Welder.

I'd go with a name-recognized brand like Lincoln or Miller, plenty of parts, available service, etc. Eastwood likely uses cheap-o Chinese crap. I spent 1500.00 bucks on my Lincoln Power mig 200 10 yrs ago, still going strong and is a good friend, no issues at all, just normal maintenance which is clean it out every so often, clean the rollers, change the regulator to a good one...otherwise no problems.

My Muscle Car Review mag just did a piece on Mig welders. They tested three different companies Eastwood, Miller, and one other. I believe they gave the Eastwood good remarks for an at home hobbiest. I'll have to review the article for more info about it.

I have a Miller 220v 175 AMP and it is fantastic for everything from sheet metal to 3/8. Doing the floors in my 65 now and love it.

Pretty sure they are made by Lincoln, sorta like the Hobart Miller thing.

I have a 110 Eastwood... works great. If I was going 220 I would probably invest in a Miller.

I have a Lincoln Pro-mig 185 best money I have spent. I have got my money and then some back out of it!!

I already had a TIG & an ARC welder for my heavy welding so I purchased a Lincoln SP 135 110V. It's a great MIG, puts down great welds and does everything you need on cars + you can plug it in anywhere. Do your homework and you won't be disappointed, I personally would stick to the pro's like Miller, Lincoln and Hobart.

Miller Or Lincoln. I have a Tig 250 Dial arc that i bought 30 years ago still solid. Miller or Lincoln Mig, if you can get a 220 v great. The smaller 110v units are highly portable a real plus for smaller jobs.

Do u like red or blue? That's about the difference between Lincoln and Miller. Both top notch. I use a Miller Delta 452 everyday at my job. Have a lincoln 110 at home. Have used hobarts too. All will do the job. No one will need a delta 452 in their shop unless they are into mass production. Unless ur that **** about it, automotive welding doesn't require a huge welder. Any 110 or small 220 will be adequate. Frame welding u want the 220. But multi pass with a good 110 will do too. Done plenty both ways. Good luck and enjoy what ever u do buy.

I did the portable deal too and well, seems like there was always something that I needed whenever I went somewhere else to weld that was back at my shop so I quit going 'off site' to do welding jobs. If you have a rigged out truck, then that's one thing but I'd rather the job just come to me then I have everything I need at hand....plus I really didn't care much for my Lincoln 100 machine. I have an old MillerMatic 200 and a Miller 250 TIG Runner and like them both. Even the stick feature on the 250 blows my old standby, a Lincoln 225 cracker box, out of the water! So it was bye bye to the old cracker box and the portable MIG....
