Has PayPal changed something?

I sent money to a guy and it shows as "pending". He is someone who I have from before on e-bay but this is outside of e-bay. An older guy and my first transaction not on e-bay with him. I even got a message sent to my cell phone that a payment was made... Seems odd shows that he has not "accepted payment".... Anyone else get this?

Did you use your bank account as the payment method?? or Balance or CCard? Had a guy in AK pay me via his bank account and it was "Pending" at my end until his bank cleared it.

I used my PP balance which it has left my account already but shows as "pending" on his end..... I will give it an hour and call him...

Yeah give it 24 hours - as for eBay last two items I posted some schmucks buy and then don't pay. Message them 3 times without a reply then cancel it out while eBay keeps showing I 'sold' the items...then contact them to clear it out. Did the Golden Rule expire? lol

I have had that happen before if there was an error in the address you sent it to.

Thanks!! It was Exactly this... It's an older guy and I wrote it down wrong I had an E instead of a B... First time for me but good to know they sent something to my cell as they saw something weird too.. Just had to cancel payment and re-issue correctly...

PayPal through eBay had been sending me message that starting soon money will go straight to the bank account attached to PayPal. I haven’t agreed or switched because I am not so sure I want a payment channel directly linked to my bank account. Anyone else received this update notice??

I have had a bank account listed with e-bay for many years now, It's not my main account but a separate one in case it gets hacked typically only enough in it to keep it open... But it's easy to transfer money to it when I have no PP money for purchases...

Yeah that is the way mine is and then backed up by two different Credit Cards. Now I haven’t read all the details, but if sounds like when you sell the money now will go directly to bank instead of to PayPal which leaves an Avenue to back door your bank account. I always thought that the PayPal was kind of a firewall between the outside world and your bank account which is protected/covered by PayPal in the event of a Hack??

Ok I understand what your talking about. I think that PP and E-bay has parted ways and now E-bay is depositing directly to your bank account.. I got that notice from e-bay not Paypal and have not done anything about it but probably will have to soon.....

Yeah I have to upgrade also, but have the concern of then having bank account hacked?? I bet the bank might not be as quick to replace your funds in the event of a hack.

I sold a higher amount item. PayPal had the $ for 21 days before it deposited in my account. I will never use them again. Used my $ to bank role there business. Nothing more than thieves

I noticed that too. Until the person I sent the money to “accepted” the transaction it showed as pending.

I used Paypal last night to send an FBBO member money. Only thing changed is that I couldn't access my account until I gave them a cell # and then they text me an access code. I've been hitting the back button on that request for over a year, but last night there was no getting around it. Other than that it was bing bang bong... money in his account immediately.

be aware of the Darker side of this paypal bs service.
recently i bought a bunch of items online thru a guys ad,thru paypal.
it showed as pending on his end for a While,even tho money was sent And received.

after a good 2-3 weeks of excuses,during which i offered to drive out to get my items,
i got ahold of paypal and found out some interesting things i didnt know.
turns out,this clown had been put in paypal limboland.
he owed so many people that paypal was taking any monies sent to him for repayment to others.
and,paypal themselves were keeping his account open,
knowing he was gonna keep ripping off others and the scams keeps going.

i did get a refund,eventually,but be buyer beware,AND be aware of what paypal does too.

As many of you kind souls can attest, I recently had occasion to receive funds through
my PayPal account from many people....and without a hitch, they all arrived quickly and
were sent directly to my checking account upon my review and command.
I've had a PP account and an eBay account for many years now, never an issue with either.
Just need to set them up properly.
