PO of my GTX had the original engine rebuilt in 1998, (it has 10k on that rebuild), he used a comp cam 280H grind (230 duration @ .050 I/E, and .48 lift both I/E) and a Stage V bare head with a "stage 2" porting job. Dyno paperwork shows an average of 473hp at 5300rpm. I'm pretty happy with the engine as is, I was just wondering what a 'stage 2' porting job is?

Thats a big guess. Every porter will have his own standards. Commonly gasket matching, light bowl clean up and polishing. Some do some back cutting on the valves.

That sounds like a good engine combination and you're making good power. I bet it has decent vacuum and is streetable too.
