Has anyone had success with the Headman Elite long tube headers on a B body Mopar with 440 motor? Do they tuck up tight like TTI or do they hang down?

Here's my experience. After three years they still look great and are leak free but the driver side was kind of a pain in the ***.

I'm running Hedman elite headers on my 66 belvedere with a 440. You will need a mini starter. Power steering box clearance was a problem. I pulled the steering box off and slotted the two mounting holes at the top (of the steering box). I slotted the holes about a quarter of an inch. I didn’t have to slot the bottom hole. It tilted the steering box away from the header. I could have shimmed the motor mount on the driverside up a little but I'm running a edelbrock rpm intake and didn't have the hood clearance. I used felpro header gaskets and Mr. Gasket hi-temp lock washers. The headers come with header bolts but don't use them. They make longer header bolts that work better and don't cost much. I used 452 heads which is probably the heads you have. There was a casting above the exhaust ports that had to be ground down. You shouldn't have any problems with the pass header. I wasn't very happy with the headers when I first started installing them. That was three years ago and I have not had the first leak and they still look like new.
Make sure you use lock tight on the steering box bolts if you go that route. Also use a thread sealant on the header bolts.

Thanks for the information. Do the headers hang down much? I worry about ground clearance.

They tuck up under the car pretty well. My oil pan sets a lot lower then the headers.
