Can I ask that someone post up a picture of their heater control valve? My '73 Satellite is a factory A/C car, when I bought it the heater and A/C were both completely disassembled... I am now trying to get it all back together, but I cant figure out two things. A) where does the heater control valve mount to?? I dont see any bolt holes on my engine bay that match up to the width of the bracket! And B) how does the linkage attach? I think I may be missing a piece or something, because as it stands right now I dont see any way to attach that linkage to the control valve...

Anyone think they could post a picture of that for me? I would really appreciate it!

Here are a couple of pictures of mine on my 73 Roadrunner. The cable attaches to the valve with a pinch clip at the top, it holds the cable in place, the metal wire then attaches to the small rod that sticks out on the valve lever, and uses a small piece of rolled metal that has a cut in it for the wire, this is the self adjuster.

Huh... Okay, I think the one I have must be aftermarket, the entire valve is like brass or some kind of gold-colored metal... It also has a different mounting bracket and a completely different hook up for the cable too. Dang! Looks like its time to start the hunt for a correct control valve...

You have the one that mounts on the heater core itself.

That control valve in the pics above is the same as my dads 70 e body, who knew!

Does your control look like this one?

If so, it is an aftermarket heater control from 4 Seasons. The top pipe set is for the inlet to the heater core. The bottom set is for the outlet side from the heater core. Since it is aftermarket, there are no holes drilled into the firewall or inner fenders but I will install mine on the pass side and screw it to
the inner fender. Run my hoses. Install the heater control wire and call it done.

I thought the metal ones were used on older cars. Anyway, Classic Auto Air in Florida carries the one shown in my pictures and it comes with the bracket.

b_body_hopeful, any pics of that valve installed? Thats the one that I have, but I dont see any way to attatch the cable to it...

If I cant get it to work, thanks idrivemopar, i'll get one from them if this one wont do the trick!

I just finished installing the control. My cable fit perfectly and just snapped into place on the control frame.
Here is a picture of how I installed the above heater control....

I know this is an old post, but does any one know if the A/C valve that IDriveMopar posted is correct for pre-July 73, part number 3502346?
The parts book says it had a detachable bracket which was 3502630.
In addition, I noticed the A/C ports are plugged. ??
Thanks,
Bob
