I was involved with Mopars for many years, got away from them and finally got back into the "hobby." At one time I had seven Mopars but am down to three. The car I am working on is a 68 Dodge Charger. The insurance claims agents/body shop owner sold it to me as having surface rust. His idea of surface and mine are not to same. Yep, it will need a trunk, quater panels, and maybe both front fenders. I bought a 68 383 engine block and already had the transmission. It was originally GG1 green and I intend to keep it that color. I have many questions and hope you all can help me.

welcome to FBBO from NorCal

Thanks for the hello

This is a great site. I am attempting as much of the restoration as possible, not only to save money, but I like the work. For Budnick, I used to live in San Jose, Hayward, and Mtn. View. I worked for the City of Palo Alto (long story). The Air Resource people, or whatever they're called, gave me fits about inspecting my 66 Sport Fury 440. I took it to one station and an Iranian guy practically screamed "mod-ee-fied, mod-ee-fied!" and backed away from my car like it was radioactive. I called CARB, was on hold for an hour, was talked down to by this rude woman, and sent to a station where my car passed. My crime? I added an aluminum intake and carb. What CARB could not get through their thick skulls was that Ford and General Motors went to pollution devices in 66 but Chrsyler didn't until 67 so there never were pollution devices on my 66. They wouldn't listen. Now I live in the land of more freedom, but, unfortunately, way more rust.

Welcome to the site, since you are from MO and I am going there soon could you tell me if there is anything I should stop by and see while I'm there. I'll be in St Louis but just over Memorial day weekend since that is the longest amount of time my wife will have off from tech school at Fort Leonardwood. She's already told me there is nothing out there around the base.
