I have been looking for suspension upgrades for my 77 Cordoba. The torsion bar anchor point at the trans cross member rusted and my front passenger side is sitting on its bump stop. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome, any pics? If you mean the torsion bar mount is rusted out at the crossmember the only solution is to weld it back. You have to be aware of the clocking of it because of the adjuster at the front. Good luck.

hi and welcome to the site and yes photos please :headbang:

Hi and welcome to the forum...

It sounds like you have a lot of rust and corrosion. How serious are you about keeping the car? Got any pictures?

Welcome from a Detroit escapee. This problem is hard to evaluate without pic's.

Many thanks, I'm well aware that the torsion bar mount needs to be correctly clocked. The issue is that it's rusted. If I try to weld it, what would I weld it to???

I believe I saw an ad somewhere for a weld in cap that will slip over the existing frame and crossmember, just can't remember where I saw it.

Thanks Everyone for the warm welcome. Yes I understand that its very hard to help my situation without some pics. I will get some pics. of both my Cordobas in the coming weeks. The car I'm trying to save is a 77 silver with maroon top and interior, it has a 400ci w/ 727 Torqueflight rebuilt w/ B&M shift kit and 5.0 KD lever. Transmission upgrades were done by myself.

My other B-body is another 77 Cordoba 360 2bbl. w/ 904 Torqueflight and 35K original miles. This one is a driver the car is 95% original. Was 100% original when I bought it.

Promise pics. and more later.

welcome to FBBO, maybe search the B-Body suspension & brakes forum here, for upgrades & ideas

I have seen some replacement crossmembers but I don't know if any are made for Cordobas. The other possibility is to fab up some metal to replace it. Maybe someone has a car they are parting out also. Good luck and I really hate road salt. This is the end result.

Hit the local swap meets...look up a guy named Ken Hull tell him Kurt that had the cuda back in the day said you would know the guy with donor parts for that car...Tim I think..might be able to pull what you need and replace it if its possible
