New to the forum.
I have a 63 max wedge 426/415hp 330. When we restored it,15 years ago, it was put back factory stock. It was my fathers car and he did most of the work. Dvorak did the motor and he built one hell of a motor.
My father knew everything about these cars, having owned and raced a 63 Savoy 413 high compression max wedge in 63 to 65.
This one is new to me.
the car is still really nice. It does need some work though. It has been sitting in my brothers garage for 6 years. Before that it sat outside for almost a year, under a cover. Bad move. Some of the pot metal pitted, grill and headlight rings look like crap and it now has a few paint problems.
The carpet faded but the rest of the interior is perfect.
I'll get it running this week. The 3447's are on the shelf and I ordered new Carter's.
can't wait to drive it again.

thanks, Dan

Sweet car!! I've been to the Friday night car show in the Home depot in Davies a few times.Ther also used to be one at a little burger joint off Atlantic in Coconut Creek.

Yep. Tower Shops in Davie is still going strong.
My father raced his 413 Belvedere on Long Island. We lived in Oakdale at the time.

Welcome, very cool. My sister in law and her family live in Lake Worth. One time when we were visiting we were lucky enough to catch the Mopar show at the Dodge dealer in Davie.

Welcome DanBMaxie, You found the best of the mopar forums on the net. Hope to see the 63 around the area.

Hemi-itis The burger joint was Happy Days, Long Gone, it was torn down to make way for another business. Still flat lot to this day. It was a cool place to see the local rides.

Welcome aboard and thanks for joining the Forum.

I remember Happy Days. Great spot. I still drive by wishing it was there. Many money races were started in the parking lot.

He always talked about Islip, Dover and I think West Hampton.
He had a black 63 Belvedere 413 max wedge. He loved the car, mom hated it. He raced it through 63 and blew the motor in early 64. They swapped the motor, raced a bit more and dumped the car.

My '63 has been a race/street car for a long time.Supposedly it was a record holder at Islip for a few years.I bought it over 25 years ago from John Long in Huntington.Did your dad buy it new?Was it always black??

Yes he and a friend bought it new. Black from the factory. It was bought at a Plymouth dealer on Long Island. I think in Bayshore.
Unfortunately after they were done with it, it was chopped up and dumped. The car was found several years later during construction on the LI expressway. His buddy's name was on the title and he caught some heat.
Dad always regretted getting rid of that car. He always wanted another one, So, he bought and restored this Dodge in 92.

I was wondering if I had dad's car. That would have been awesome.Apparently my car was a shade of green when it was a slanty w/3 on the tree.

Nice car Maxie. My dad's car was a 51 Chevy Deluxe 4 door with a stovebolt six and a powerglide. Guess we can't all be lucky enough to be born into the Mopar family. Some of us catch the fever later.
