My name is Thomas, I live in Jackson, Mississippi.

My car is a 1972 Plymouth Satellite Sebring Plus that I bought from a guy in Georgia in late June 2013. The car had it's fair share of problems. Since the original 318 2 barrel was long gone and it had a 360 with a cam and an edelbrock 4 barrel setup in it's place, I decided to build the car how I wanted as opposed to doing a straight up resto on it. Originally a doeskin poly color with a white vinyl top and deluxe black interior.

Here it is as I got it:

There was a lot of under hood cleaning involved at first. Then I started on the body. I took it down to the metal, blasted all trouble areas, cut out bad metal and installed good. I bought a 72 Satellite Sebring that had been parked since '83 to use for parts (oddly enough, as rusted as it was, it wasn't rusted in the same areas as the SSP so it makes for a good parts car). The original hood on the SSP was warped, tweaked, bent, rusted, and bondo'ed... When I bought the parts car the guy had some Roadrunner hoods leaning up against a tree, they had been there for many years, so I bought one of those as well. I had to swap out the decklid as well. Again, I got it all down to the metal and started getting the body right.

It took a good 10 weeks to do all the bodywork right. Primed the whole car multiple times with buildable primer and blocked it multiple times to get it nice and flat. Then I shot several coats of urethane Jet Black base and several more coats of Ultra clear. Wetsanded and buffed the car.

It turned out pretty good for me shooting it in my garage and doing all the work myself. That damn garage is barely big enough to contain this big B-body and still have room for me to work in. I badged it like a roadrunner just because I like the look.

Now I'm working on the interior and hope to have the car finished before the end of the year. I have a few things to fix and a few more parts to get before I can start reinstalling the interior.

Anyway, I just wanted to introduce myself. I'm looking forward to reading some posts and learning some stuff.

Thanks for having me.
