Have a '72 SSP that I bought in pieces. Trying to mount the wiring harness and can't find the mounting holes for the starter relay. Is it somewhere near the battery or on the firewall? Thank you.

Right behind the battery.

Now for the bonus question.. What does the bolt that attaches it to the inner fender look like? I too have a basket case Satellite (71) and will be posting questions like this.

I assume that is the case for all B-Bodies? I have two 73 small block cars with big blocks PO's installed and one relay is on the firewall and one is on the fender well so I did not know which was correct as both are kind of shade-treed.

curious, do this need a good ground i.e. does one have to have the bolts holding it on be touching bare metal? I'm installing this starter relay this week :)

Have to disagree, for ’71-74, the ground necessary for the starter relay primary windings is provided by ether the neutral safety switch (automatics) or the clutch pedal starter lock out switch (manuals). No grounding required through the mounting blots.

another thing I wanna ad to this post (sorry for the thread jack) is where does the engine ground strap mount to on the engine and on the car for the 71-74? How big of wire? I was thinking of using either a 1/0 or a 2/0 strap somewhere...
