Hemi 4 speed and A-833 difference.

A friend has a 69 Hemi with Hemi 18 spline A833 but with a 383/440 bellhousing with 10-1/2” clutch and mini starter. While I have a 66 Hemi with a 23 spline A833, large bellhousing, 11” clutch and direct drive starter. Lots of possible interchange here. The devil is in the small details dependent upon the bellhousing selected. The transmission doesn’t really care what it’s hooked up to or what pressure plate is used, as long as the disc spline count matches the input shaft splines.

Is Passon no longer making or servicing that 5 speed?

The 5-speed (A-855) is no longer available...
Regarding servicing the existing 5-speeds already out there...
Don't know, U better talk to Jamie directly about that..

I have an a body one. I was told after the initial drop of units, garrett fuss bought part or all the rights to the 855, or was brought in to produce more or something. I forget exactly. But in my experience, you call Jamie and pay, he’ll get you one. (Even if listed N/A)

That is not the case anymore. Jamie has washed his hands of everything having to do with the 855.

A buddy has an A855... Probably 2000 miles on it... It's destroying itself... I wouldn't spend the money to own one of those....

However I do love my Tremec 5 speed...

GFI designed, built, and serviced the A855 from day 1.

Jamie washed his hands of it, only if your trans had an issue, as did GFI, and Huff.

All 3 are incompetent, knew it was defective, and kept selling it while raising the price.

GFI also builds the Hemi 4 speed overdrive gear set for Passon Performance.

There is alot of misinformation circulating about the A-855.
Several months ago... Mopar Collector Guide provided a full explanation about
its status, explaining each event what had happened over the last 8 years.
