Hey , Guys I need help with the exhaust

:grin: I have not been around a lot cars lately to here the sound , Can anyone help me pick out a system :eusa_think: My bird is a 71 with a 340 and headers , I would like to have it about 2.5 in and over the rear end . I do like the noise :beermug:

i got flow master 40's on my 383 road runner. they sound great but theres an ear vibrating drone at 1900 to 2100 rpm. it dont bother me that much unless theres a ghood tune on the radio!

Flowmasters here too. You can go their web site and hear audio clips of the different systems. Mine's mellow at cruising speed, mean as freakin' hell when I need to pass someone or race. :grin:

I've got Flowmaster 40s on mine too, and I think they're a bit too loud, so I'm switching to something more sedate.

I use Flowmasters @ www.flowmastermufflers.com, I got my current set from Summit Racing, I've used the brand for years, the guy who started the company use to race a Sears Point/Infinion Drag strip way back when, there weren't too many racing mufflers being produced, he came up up with the delta flow style box muffler, for race cars, his company was out of Santa Rosa Ca. originally... I also use Flowmasters on my 68 RR HT, full 3" system out the back, and on my 99 Dakota 4x4 cat back 3" system... I love the exhaust tone... There is also Accurate Exhaust Products @ www.accurateltd.com for exhaust systems & TTI Exhaust @ www.ttiexhaust.com for headers & exhaust systems, they both are Mopar Specialty Companies, for factory &/or stock OEM type quality fit...

Get the shortest glasspacks you can find and put in the tailpipes as resonators. The real short ones will not muffle much, but will reduce or eliminate the drone. They're cheap, too.

what I did

I did the 2.5 s.s. form Pypes & the flowmasters 40's . :3gears: It just does'nt get any better I love it , thanks for the help :beermug:
