Just saying hello. Recently moved to Northern ID and starting to settle in.

BTW the Bee in my Avatar I bought right about this time of year in ‘75 for $400. It was the beginning of my Senior year in HS. Somehow it survived my youth & I still own her today.

It’s a 383/727 car with factory air, radio omit, and stripe delete car. White over DR8 (Maroon). Weird combo, special ordered that way.

Paint, dents, and primer are all original from back in the day!

Thanks, the fact that this car was not totaled or blown up by 17yr old me being stupid can only be chalked up to a series of miracles!

My thoughts exactly!! I had a few I made a few mistakes with, didn't end well....

Welcome from Alabama, Dodge 68 B bodies were great. 383 is hard to blow up in stock form.

I guess valve float was a good rev limiter! With the stock 3:23’s she’d get pretty close to 60 in first if you held it long enough!

Hi Dan!
I L-O-V-E your Superbee!
Great color combo
Wow,
So great to see you have owned this car since 1975!

I think you paid way too much for it though!

Only kidding of course!
Anyway, welcome to the forum!

Welcome to FBBO from Ontario. Nice looking 'Bee. Hardly ever see '68's though. A guy in my area still has the one he bought new. I bought a '69 new, but I don't still have it.

Hey he was asking $450 and my dad talked him down. The guy needed to offset the cost of his shiney new Datsun 610 wagon he had just bought. I talked to the seller again in 1980 and was excitedly telling him about the rebuilt motor and new seat upholstery I had done. His response was “I can’t imagine anyone wanting to put money into a car like that” I just shook my head and walked away

Thanks. I saw some numbers that Govier published in a Mopar mag years ago that indicated only 447 ‘68 bees had air. The entire time I have owned this car, I have seen less than a dozen ‘68s in real life, three were in junkyards. I have only seen one other ‘68 Bee with air and that was a rust bucket shell on fleabay in Florida. I did run across a Green ‘69 Bee with air at Fomosa (Hot Rod Reunion) near Bakersfield in 2011

The mid and late 70s was a great time for bargain Mopars. 1968 Roadrunners and SuperBees were easy to find and most were under $1500. Congrats on hanging on to your bargain!

Gas prices and sky high interest rates were a gearheads friend back then... sort of. I remember a 70 4-speed Hemi Cuda in Barstow back in ‘82 for $5500 but no way to get a loan. Same for a ‘69 L88 ‘vette for $6200...” Mr Harris, we don’t loan on cars older that 10 years old” AAARGH!

Welcome from Indiana. Question, how does a high school boy pick up girls without a radio in his car?
