So I was at a local car show last year and a guy and his girlfriend was leaving the show coming up the row in a 67 Chevelle I was walking down.
I stopped him and told him his high beams we on, he said thank you but could not figure out how to lower them.
I told him to step on the dimmer switch on the floor. I leaned in the window and pointed it out to him.
He said I wondered what that was but was afraid to push it.
I'm sure the girlfriend got a good laugh.

God only knows what he had been doing trying to turn them off. Too funny.

I remember upgrading to a newer Ford work van in 1997; my previous Ford van was a 1990 which still had the dimmer switch on the floor. The new van had the highs on the stalk, which was the first vehicle I had with them in that location. Every time I pulled on the stalk to activate the high beams at night, the highs would only flash, not stay on. After my 2nd trip back to the dealer, I was finally told that I had to push the stalk forward to keep the highs on. Boy, did I feel dumb.

I still fight with that. All of my vehicle's have either been on the floor or the ones that one pull is off pull again is on, my wifes Cruz is the one you have to push on and still screws with me. Never understood why they did away with the floor switch and wing windows?

Don't sweat it RC....about 10 years ago I took my bosses Lexus around the block to collect some parts for a job. I couldn't find a parking brake release no matter how hard I searched. gave up in the end and drove off anyway. Five miles of excruciatingly slow and sluggish performance later......I was told the parking brake was a foot job - push to engage, push to release. I'm sure I saw smoke coming off those back wheels.
