My name is sean, i'm a proud owner of a '66 belvedere, in '67 dress. The car originally was a hemi-auto S/S, was runner-up to shirley shehan at winternationals in 1966. Jere Stahle had a twin to this car. This car was call brand x eliminator, and was one of most feared hemi's to run nhra S/S with Ken Heinnemen as it's original owner. A very good friend of mine owned the car from 68-71 and raced it around the Cincinnati area mostly, before he sold it in fall of 71. The car unfortunately lost the hemi in the mid 70's when it was blown, it was insulted by an owner that replaced the hemi with a Big Block Chevy. Also, at some point between 80 and 85 the car was backhalved and tubbed. The car was re-acquired in 2004, after 15 years in storage, and a 500" wedge mated to the hemi 727 makes the motivation. Interesting, the trans and the dana 60 are still original pieces to the car, and although modified are there. My late friend and I have for the most part brought the car back to a very respectable performer at the track, although I would like to ultimately get a hemi to be the power in the future. The wedge does a good job for now, i'm working on power and getting it to 60' better, as of last the car runs 10.50-10.60 in the 1/4, with MPH 127-129. Not too bad for 3155lbs w/ me in it!!

:sSig_welcometoourcl when you can post up some photos:happy7:

welcome Sean!

a big block Chevy???!!!! WTF! somebody should be strung up by their _____!

welcome to FBBO Sean, sounds like that car has got some stories to tell, great history is always cool stuff...

Thanks all!! I'll post some photos this weekend, yeah the car has a very interesting story to tell! I've really brought the car around from how it was in 2004, it really is a nice racecar again. My goal is to do a magnumforce tubular k-member/ rack/ coilover setup in the front, as well as a 572 hemi crate from Indy!

I'll be at the mopar event at tri-state dragway in hamilton, ohio the end of this month! And, i'll be at norwalk for the mopar world finals! Just look for a garnet red and bronze belv. with a teal and silver stripe down the center of the hood and trunk, that will be me!

Welcome to FBBO!

You will enjoy this site. Great people and great information!

A very special car to say the least!
Thanks for joining FBBO.
Welcome aboard.
I think ultimately installing the (a) Hemi back in it is a good idea.

I have actually seen a picture of that car:
Brand X Eliminator
I can not find a pic as of yet but I will. give me time.
BUT: It IS mentioned in this book;

Resultbooks.google.com/books?isbn=1934709484
