When I shut the hood on my 64 Fury it's fine but when I put on the air cleaner it hits.Is there an air cleaner that will fit flat.Hate to cut up the hood after all the work I did painting it.If worse comes to worse I was thinking about afermarket with a scoop and hinges.Just had my hinges restored.I know there's been alot of hood talk-now I have to figure out how to access it.I used an Edelbrock intake and a summit carb for starters.I was thinking of using an EFI setup with six injectors in the future. Thanks

How about a drop base air cleaner?

Is it an RB block and what intake is it ? Ron

I have a 440 block out of a 68 Chrysler and an Edelbrock performer RPM intake-Thanks Ron

you need to measure the space you have when the hood is closed to see if you can run a drop base air cleaner.(space from air horn to hood)modeling clay is a good way to do this.take a look at summit and jegs, they have some strange shape air cleaners that may work for you.

I ended up running a drop base on my 1969 and it fits perfectly. I run that very same set up too.

I use this drop base air cleaner with the 440 block I use and my intake is the Indy dual plane which looks to be about as high as the Eddy RPM intake to me. I had to use this 2" filter and not the 3" one that came with it as its thats close to my hood. I have about 1/2" of room between my hood and the air filter on my 63. The other option which would be a little work is to find a Holley Street Dominator intake which is lower and is a single plane but it works great as I ran one on my old 440 and it ran great with it and had plenty of room since it lower then the RPM intake. Good luck , Ron
