All carbs in 71 were California emissions, I believe it was called cleaner air system. According to the service manual it should be a 6191 holley or 6193 holley with air grabber. I know many of the guys doing OE restos on 383 stick cars are looking for a 4667 holley due to how their build sheet is marked. General concensus is that this carb was never made. I believe someone found one years back and it was thought to be an engineering prototype. Then what is the right carb for a 71 383 that's not California emissions for my RR?
If you want a holley, I would research if there are newer 4160 style holleys that do not suffer the casting issues. My car isn't original and has an air grabber. Currently has an Edelbrock on it and I want to switch back to a Holley. What would be a good new replacement?
