Has anyone put Holley carbs on a Max Wedge? I plan on using a pair of 660s on my 496 Max Wedge.....what I need to know is will the stock linkage work? It looks like it should but what about where the throttle rods attach to the carb, does someone sell the "attachment piece"? Also, it looks like the Hemi cross ram fuel lines may work with this set up. Any and all comments or advice on this would be appreciated. Thanks, Mike

Why not buy the 770 cfm hemi Holley carbs, 496 cubes. Only problem is idle fouling, idle circuit a little rich.

Hey Fran, I thought about the 770s but just for the reason you stated is why I'm shying away from them. My car will see 99% street driving so idle quality is important....thank you for your reply

Hey Doug, also thought about Eddys but I've seen them on some cross ramps and with my velocity stacks on it just doesn't look right to me....I'm not saying it's wrong just not for me. Thanks for your reply

I need to work on my 770s but other projects. I think I still have this carb $25 and the shipping. If you change your mind.

I'm running 2 650s on my car and it idles at 750-850 no problem

My Holleys are the race Hemi 3116s. The idle feed restrictors are very large, .058. Been restricting them some but have been working on my Satellite. That me putting a drilled set screw in IFR to restrict gas flow.

this car has a mw packaged 440 bottom end , pump gas engine . we run twin 660 holleys on it from street to track . drives like a hotrod car , no fouled plugs . but fresh plugs are a wake up .

What fuel lines did you use or did you make your own? Pictures would be helpful....thanks

sorry no pics on hand . did a custom set from the 1/2 feed line to the holley fuel reg on the fender well with two 3/8's fuel lines to the carbs . throttle linkage was done like a stock setup with a idle solenoid for running idle . that drop off with the key off for engine shout down . mounted on the manifold , so it pushes on the bell crank of the throttle linkage .

Got my 660s today and when I set them on the intake the throttle linkage hits the intake when I open the throttle. The only "fix" I can see is adding a carb spacer maybe 3/8"....is that how yours is set up? Thanks, Mike

I have the Eddies on my 440 built Maxie Cross Ram

I've used 600, 750 Eddy's, or stock 3447, 3705 Carter's. Any will work fine.
Doug

How/where did you mount the throttle return springs
we built a bracket from the front left carb to the pivit arm of the linkage and as for the throttle arm hitting the manifold we just cut off the small portion that would have been on a chevy return spring
