OK -I admit it ,I know nothing about Holley carbs, so ,my question is, I'm interested in using a pair of Holley 600CFM vacuum secondary carbs . I see many 600 CFM carbs but a variety of list numbers- is the list number vehicle application? jet sizes? vacuum diaphragm, spring tension?

the 1850 would be the easiest, but there's a bunch of variations.

STR 15-8 crossram for my 383 for street.

if you do the holleys connect the two vacuum pods to balance the secondary opening rates. parts to do this are available from holley. I wouldn't pass on a matched pair of edelbrock 600's if you run across them. also, some of those intakes benefit from a pop-off valve.

For what it's worth, if you don't already own the STR-15-8, here are a couple of articles from Hot Rod on 383 intake tests. It's from a while ago, so prices they quote are not accurate. You might have already seen these. Have fun with your build.
