Naugahyde is just another fancy word for vinyl. Just treat it as you would vinyl.

Fine thing to say around all the little Naughies that were slaughtered to get those hides! :)

When I was flying on P-3C Orions for the Navy, when we had a VIP come aboard for a flight, we had these fancy blue naugahyde seat covers that we would put on the seats the VIPs were using so they wouldn't get their dress uniforms messed up. One day we were pre-flighting, and this ditzy female lieutenant admiral's aide came aboard and we were showing her where her boss would sit, and we pointed out the nice naugahyde cover to her, and she said "what's a naughy? I've never heard of one before."

Needless to say, we had a bunch of laughs at her expense during that flight. :)

The hyde from the exotic Nauga was extensively sought after in the 60s and was used in upholstery of seats.

If it's used on the top of the car, or anywhere else, it's called vinyl.

:D
