I need some help....I want to buy some parts (engine) from a guy in the US .He wants me to pay with no paper trail ( parts about US$8000).
He's a straight reliable guy .i trust him.
How can I do this?
Western union needs his ID
PayPal means he would have to transfer to a bank acc.
International transfer is to a bank acc.

Apart from me personally flying to the US with greenbacks how the hell am I going to get this done?

I can organize the pick up from him and shipping to me in Australia but not the payment
Any help

Either Paypal Visa or moneytransfer bank to bank or I just stay away NO NO NO Western Union, thats what scammers use.

The best way to handle this is to send cash directly to me & I'll make sure it gets to the proper place.

Still has to declare it by putting it from PayPal to a bank account.

He's an older gentleman and probably trying to avoid...you know!

a little trick i know some people use is take a chq made out to him and then he takes it to someone in a retail establishment and they cash it and deposit it in their bank with their daily deposit. it dosen't go through his bank. it only goes through the retailer bank and your bank.
here in ontario canada there is no sales tax on meat products so a butcher shop is a retailer to use. something with sales tax has a trail. 8 grand is a fair size chunk so send 2 or 3 chqs.

now i have never done this sort of thing, but there is always more than one way to skin a cat.

Personally, Internationally "I wouldn't do it with out a paper trail", just for your protection, if nothing else... I don't care how honest you think someone is, it's pretty hard to collect internationally or have any kind of recourse, if they don't come thru, or stiff you, or the parts get lost etc., without some kind of proof of purchase or paper trail of some kind...

I think I would be leery of any transaction that doesn't include paper work. It is buyer beware these days. I am sure you will find good people on here willing to sell you the items you need without ripping you off. I am also an old guy but if you buy from me you will get the documents necessary to achieve a satisfactory sale. Just my opinion and I still reserve the right to change mind when the urge hits me. lol....Bill

8000 dollars is a lot of money to put out first and then get the parts.. if thats the case, i guess i would be Leary myself.

Thanks guys for all your replies... i agree it does sound impossible for me to do it with cash.
i need a bill of sale for shipping(customs, insurance).

i guess i will have to see if it is still a under those conditions.
btw how much tax would the guy be up for?

"No papertrail" seems like an odd and risky request. How many guys really declare to the IRS how much money they made (or lost) buying and selling cars and parts to pay for their hobby?

Myself as Customs officer is that the person understands the law .The Customs law said that is if you send or carry more than $10000.00 or more must be reported. Banks will report to IRS if you deposit more than $10000 to IRS. The best way if he worry about it PayPal him two payments with different days. also a bill of sale wiith all details must be presented for export. any help feel free to contact me.
