Is there a proper why to remove stains and dirt from seatbelts without damaging the original color.

Bissell upholstery cleaner works wonders on them, and Scrubbing bubbles for showers works great on seats and vinyl roofs!

Soak in Simple Green
This works well. Soak for several minutes in a bucket of warm water and Simple Green. Scrub with a brush and rinse clean.

I’ve used all these things. I’ve also used Oxy Clean power in the mix. I always start with hot water for the soak. Scrub, soak, repeat.

which type of simple green cleaner
I am not aware of anything special, is there more than one? You can soak them buckles and all. Start with a milder mix at first as it is mainly sweat and dirt and cigarette smoke. Repeat until the water gets clean. Then you can dye them. I don't remember the brand but it has been around for a long time and someone will jump in quickly with the name. This is a simple project without much to worry about. I have left belts soak overnight before. Sometime will take a day or two to do the process and return them to "flexible".

I put mine in an army laundry bag, and washed them in the clothes washer, they came out looking brand new...
