Hello Team B Bodies,

I appreciate your help and am looking for advice. I have Sassy on the rotisserie now and only have the K member and the associated parts to come off before sending it out to the Media Blaster. I can not for the life of me figure out how to get the Torsion Bars out of the Front End so that I can remove the K member. My bet is there is a trick, but I just am not talented enough to figure it out.

Can someone give me guidance on that subject. How do I get the things out?

Best to you all,

B.

Oh, I have loosened the Tension Bolts so that they are "finger" tight. That is where I am right now. I tried to slide them out backwards without success. I removed a "keeper" ring on the rear portion of the torsion bar as well. So, here I am??

Vice grips and a hammer. If they're more stuck.....sawzall and new bars.

The easiest way to remove the torsion bars is to also remove the lower control arm at the same time.

The manual will tell you to use a torsion bar removal tool to hammer the torsion bar backwards.

It's much easier to loosen the lower control pivot arm nut, the brake strut nut and separate from the steering knuckle. Then just pry the lower control arm with the torsion bar towards the back of the car. Once the torsion bar has become dislodged from the rear socket, just tap the lower control arm off the front of the torsion bar with a hammer.

One of these days I'm going to make a video of this, course that would mean I have to have one of those newfangled phones or video cameras AND learn how to use them.

...I think I'll stick to old Mopars.

Thank you Team B Bodies,

So, they go out backwards once the keeper has been removed? Just take out the Lower Control Arm and pop it a couple of times to slide the Torsion bars backwards?

B.
