Thinking about 15 x 10, but wondering if steel wheels this size will be just too heavy to be practical for a road car?

Nothing is ever to wide, you just might have a problem making them fit under the car. Go fot it. Good luck.

I'm sure they'll fit, just thinking about the sheer weight involved.

They aren't really that much heavier then the normal 15x8s. If you play with the offset my bro on his 73 charger got 305/50/15 to tuck inside the back fender wells. If your going all around might run into turn clearances.

The 15X10 cop wheels I got from Stockton are 34lbs ea.

I'm looking at the Wheel Vintiques 10 x 15 s with 5.5" backspace. Their stock number 63, like the post 68 OEM wheels.

I put the 15x10s offa my dirt track car onto my 74 Monaco...for one day. It looked ridiculous (but badass) cuz the offset was all wrong, altho the rears ALMOST tucked in. I didn't notice much change in handling or stopping distances tho (I drove it to work that day). It's all unsprung weight, so unless yer gonna auto-cross the thing you'll probably never notice it, especially if you're just putting em on the rear.

BTW, I run 16x8 (WheelVintiques) steelies w 265/60 16s on the back of my Cordoba, can't imagine a 15x10 being much heavier than those. The car is just a tick under 4000# with me in it. By comparison, the 89 Mazda 4x4 pickup that I just bought a couple of weeks ago as a parts-chaser?... 5 THOUSAND pounds. No ****.
