This site looks like an awesome place for all B-Body lovers. Talk about dumb luck..I just ran across and purchased a totally unmolested 1965 Coronet 500 W/a poly head motor. This car is one-hundred percent original right down to the single exhaust. Ruby Red with the black bucket seat interior (original). The ONLY thing that is not original are the early 70s rally wheels. In 1965 I purchased a brand new 1965 Coronet 440 with a 383 4-speed. My plan for openers...is to turn this 500 into a 440 trim line. However, I will be keeping the 500 interior. So, if anybody out there wants 500 trim...I have it all. Everything is very nice except the r/r w/o mldg.and some minor pitting on the pot metal pieces. Looks like the w/o mldg. was flattened against a post or the like.If anyone is interested in swapping 440 trim for my 500 stuff...let me know. Sometime in another post I would like to share how I came upon this find..it's a very touching story....:headbang:....Thanks everybody!

Let me ask you this. In 1965 if you could have afforded the more expensive 500 model would you have preferred to have purchased it? If so, why deprive yourself again and spend the money to make your car LOOK like the one you originally bought just for the sake of nostalgia.

Bruce welcome to the FBBO forum, I think you will like it here...

Hi Bob,
Some have said I spend too much time @ SanTan Flats lol....but I never listen...it's right down the road from me....:headbang:

Nope....I could have gotten the 500 instead. However, I like the Coronet 440 trim line better. If I had it to do over again,I would have ordered it with a 426 Street Wedge...or more than that,a Coronet 2-dr. post. I have always preferred the "Plane Jane" look with big engines....I have had many of them in my time....Love Sedona...go up there often....
