I got to see what a major stroke looks like.

I work a few days/nights a month at a independent living community. Just covering for employees who call in sick or have vacation days. It pays for car parts. During the days I drive these people to their doctors appointments, at night I man the front desk and keep an eye on things. Mostly I watch YouTube videos or read books. This place has two awesome libraries. All the apartments have emergency pull cords. So last night a lady pulled the cord. By the time I reached her wing, (this place is massive) I could hear her screaming. Every exhale was between a scream and a moan. She was on the floor. I called 911 and they ask normal stuff, is she breathing, bleeding etc. I couldn't see anything outwardly wrong. She couldn't answer any questons. EMS was close and they were there in 5 minutes. They didn't know what was wrong either. They took her to the nearby hospital.

It's my responsibilty to call the emergency contacts, which I did but I got answering machines. I got a call from her daughter this morning. She said she had a massive stroke. I don't know if she survived. Pretty creepy.

Wow. Thanks to you she got treated quickly! I'm no stroke expert, but TIME after suffering a stroke is very important - medications administered can be game changers.

That's tough to see and deal with but bless you for being there and helping her out.
