Hello all, 1) How can you tell if a 1963 Belvedere came with factory AC? I believe it was a rare option. The only controls I've seen are the ones to the right of the speedo, pictured below. I believe these are heat only. What do the AC controls look like?

2) Is a heater box from a 1964 Plymouth compatible with/same as a 1963?

Thank you

Yup, you have it Right. That pic shows a standard heater-only setup. If it had factory air, you’d see a 'COOL' button on the panel. As for the swap, a '64 box will bolt right into a '63 without any issues since the firewall is the same.

It says cool. Its somewhat rare only because a/c was not as common and considered expensive to a lot of people years back.

Thanks for the responses. The bottom button says "cool", does that mean it has/had AC?

64 fury ac used the same button arraignment as a heater only car. Both had a cool button on the bottom. The heater switch can be modified to work with ac.

The firewall will have additional holes, round holes for lines, and iirc a larger triangle hole.

Cool for non a/c cars just means fresh air. There's Off, Heat, Defrost, Cool.

I believe the 62/63 and 64 boxes interchange, but the firewall/cowl are not the same.
