I have been searching the net for a source for these fasteners as pointed at in the attached pic (of someone elses) 71 hood insert.

I have even looked in the 71 Mopar parts catalog and it doesnt even show the R/T or Superbee inserts! So I dont even know what they are properly called in order to search for them properly.

Any insights, leads or if you have some I'd sure like to hear it!

The ones that I have are nicely corroded and I'm also missing a few.

They are called Bell nuts and Roger Gibson has them.
BN Authentic 71-72 “bell nuts” as used on hood louvers and ram air
units on 71-72 Plymouth (use 4 each)…………………………............ Set $60.00
71 Dodge R/T and Super bee louvers (use 12 each)…………………….. Set $180.00

OMG! I almost lost my cookies! (and dirtied my pants lol)

Holly Moses! Sure glad I'm only missing a few... That's quite the motivation to save the ones I do have! hahahahaha

Thank you all for the info

I bought the bellnuts from RT s
Spcialties the phone is 570 388 1082. They are very expencive.

roger gibson has them for 15 bucks ea
i need to order 2 more of them soon myself

it'a amazing the prices for parts that are not easy to find the source. I would glass bead and paint them for that price. or find a clear zinc plater in your area.

good luck

when they are missing or damaged beyond repair
you really have no choice if you
want it to look anywhere near original
unless you don't care ...

i have a few hundred dollars just
into unique fasteners for a few of the cars i own and
some of those fasteners took me alot of searching, some luck and months to find..
restoring a mopar is not easy on many levels...
if i wanted easy, i would just buy a old camaro or mustang.

I certainly understand, I did give two options. Paint if you want it clean looking or replate them to factory look. if missing you have to pay, if crusty, plating should be cheaper.

i have a few used ones that were pretty crusty
one was a split bell nut (yes there are 2 different kinds of bellnuts!)
and
i tumbled them with different medias
and then i coated them with rpm and they look great.
my problem was most were missing to begin with so
i had not much choice but to pay the piper.

The ones on My Air grabber were the split type.
