But it got me excited (I'm easy that way lol!!) so I thought I'd pass it along for general knowledge...Armrests and the bases found in 70s dodge trucks/vans/ and van cab RVs are the same in my 68 Plymouth...I gathered up a nice stash of them in really good shape from a local junkyard for 6$ a piece (4.95 for the plastic bases) Now, they are a few different colors but all the repops seem to be black ones and they ain't no 6 bucks!! For my 2-dr hardtop front and rear armrests are identical, the rear uses a shorter base due to no door handle (these I have not seen) so if you're in need and don't mind recoloring some chrysler originals, head out for some quality time at your local auto wrecker...

That is correct!

Too bad they didn't use the long pads in the vans for the dodge line...

The repops are junk...wrong stitching and they variate in length and firmness....

Ya for all they charge you'd think you could get the right stuff...here's the haul: top is from a 73 van, the other two are out of a 74 and 78 van cab RV, the base is from the 78....and I also scored a dk. green armrest from a 70-something truck that matches my 68s interior (great condition it's already in the car haha)

I've only seen colored bases, but not sure I've seen a 78.

IDK trucks (and I have an '80 and an '87 and those are NOT the same), but vans, yes.

IIRC all the way into the early 90's

The blues are too light, but the reds are close as well as the tans.

Gray was also used, but I've never seen black, and white I've only seen in RVs.

Same stitching as 68-70.

And it looks like they'd work in Bam Bam, cool.

Another little tidbit of information that I learned at a car show by an old timer who used to sell them is that if your chrome is wearing out, you can swap the bases from side to side, thus putting the bottom (with unworn chrome) on the top.

The 'show side'!
