Indexing spark plugs

Since the heads are on the bench, I figured it was a good time to index a set of spark plugs. I know it may not be worth much, if any, horsepower, but just seems like the right thing to do. I am curious how you guys prefer to do it. I know in the past I have just purchased an extra 3 or 4 plugs and trial & error until I got them all pretty happy. I am attempting to use the Moroso indexing washers this time....

• Do I keep the funky little factory crush washer in addition to the indexing washer, or toss the factory washer and just use the single indexing washer?

Since Moroso's own instructions don't say to remove the washer, I'd leave it in there.
