Indy results, frustration

Went to NDRL race #3 at Indy. Test on Thhursday. Track was horrible. 60fts have been a solid 1.29x EVERYWHERE on the 9.25 tune. Here the first two hits 1.388, 1.380. No wheels up. Just fishtailing. Gave up as the track staff promised better on Friday. Had to have a good qualifing run early as there ws a 32 car shootout on Friday. Q1; I lifted at the mph cone as I didn't want to go under. Ran 9.261. Q2 ran 9.259. That gets me in to one of the 9 available qualifing spots. Run #1 .017 R/T. Car blazes the tire to all time worst 1.411 60ft. End of the day. Already had taken all the weight off the nose and loosened the front shock rebound. Normally this would result in a 100ft long wheelie, nope. For Saturday the rear shock rebound is loosened as well. Q3 on Saturday morning runs exactly where it was set, 9.265. Now is where I shoot myself in the foot. I trust the track and set the car for a 9.260. First we get a cloudburst . Now my 9.260 is going to be slow. Second though it manages a 1.335 60 ft that isn't what it was setup for. Long story short the tune up is way off. Runs a 9.300. My mistake, should've carried some and set for a 9.225-9.230 and drove the stripe. It's something I'm good at and didn't take advantage of. Yes the track was prepped vey poor. Same on NHRA as this is their premier track. But in the end, it's on me to get down the track. I didn't adapt. Let frustration get the better of me. Leason learned. Fortunatley only dropped down 1 round. Went from 2nd to 6th. Now 2 rounds out of first in the standings with 2 races to go.

Man I feel the frustration just reading this and that’s a tough day to work through. The proven set up worked against you. But back to the set up that works and count on a decent track.

I don't understand these tracks with their prep.
Thankfully most of the tracks I go to are consistently prepped. 2 that I visit are hit or miss. They prepped ok for a big event and other times it's marginal at best. Very frustrating.

NDRL is non profit. They provide the purse funded by sponsers. All entry money paid ($150 per car), all spectator gate, and concesions all are kept by the track as profit. Mty bet is there were my close to 150 entries. So it isn't like they didn't make money. Bowling Green and St Louis prep was fine. Hell our local T&T prep is fine.

Track prep costs money.
If they're gonna make money on the car count and concessions anyway, whether the track is good or not.........?
